Sensex Down Over 100 Points

Sensex Down Over 100 Points; Sun Pharma, Lupin Drag  
11.36 a.m.: Sun Pharma led selloff in pharma stocks, it was down 2.3 per cent at Rs 765.85. The pharma  sub-index of National Stock Exchange was down 1.05 per cent. Lupin , Auro Pharma were the other two big losers in the index. Meanwhile the Sensex was down 136 points at 27,941 and the Nifty traded 46 points lower at 8,621. The rupee was at 67.19, down 13 paise against the dollar.

10.40 a.m.: Sensex fell 134 points to 27,943 after selling intensified in metal and auto shares. The Nifty traded 46 points lower at 8,621. Hindalco, Sun Pharma, Lupin, Bank of Baroda were the prominent losers in the Nifty, down 1.5-2 per cent.

10.10 a.m.: Selling in auto, metal and banking shares dragged frontline indices lower. The Sensex was down 65 points at 28,012 while the Nifty50 index traded 25 points lower at 8,642.  

10.05 a.m.: Fortis Malar Hospital shares surged 20 per cent to Rs 68.50 after its parent Fortis Healthcare announced demerger of diagnostic business with itself.

9:30 p.m.: Welspun India slumps 20 per cent after Bloomberg reported that Target Corp is ending all business with the company, "after saying the supplier was sending it phony Egyptian cotton sheets".  

9:25 p.m.: Sensex overcame a weak start to move higher with FMCG and energy stocks edging higher in early trade. Sensex up over 50 points while Nifty rises to 8,685 at day's high. The BSE Sensex and Nifty are likely to open flat on Monday as indicated by SGX Nifty (Nifty futures trading on Singapore Stock Exchange), which was up 11 points at 8,699 as of 8.10 a.m.  

The government on Saturday appointed Urjit Patel, current Deputy Governor at Reserve Bank of India, as the new Governor who will replace outgoing Governor Raghuram Rajan. Mr Patel's appointment as Reserve Bank Governor should lead to a rally in stock markets, said most of the analysts as it signals the continuity of monetary policy, which is focused on curbing inflation.

INDIAN MARKET OVERVIEW
Market showed strong comeback on Thursday after more than 350 points fall on the nifty future in previous six consecutive sessions, driven by index heavyweights Reliance Industries, HDFC and Infosys. Nifty future down by 84 points to close at 7644.
The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 216 points at 25252. The market breadth was strong as about 1847 shares advanced against 835 declining shares on the BSE.
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is keeping a close tab on all SDR cases reported so far and may tighten SDR guidelines to ensure the tool is not being misused by banks to defer or avoid provisioning.
Havells India, the lighting and electrical products manufacturer, decided to sell 80 stake in Havells Sylvania Malta BV owned by its subsidiary Havells Holdings (HHL) and Havells Exim to Chinese company.
GLOBAL MARKET OVERVIEW
Asian stocks slipped on Thursday as weak oil prices continued to feed global growth worries, while the euro held solid gains after a policymaker poured cold water on market expectations of more easing by the European Central Bank.
Japan's Nikkei fell 1 percent to hit a 1-month low and Australian shares dropped 0.8 percent. South Korea's Kospi dipped 0.2 percent.
The Dow Jones industrial average fell 75 points to 17492, the S&P 500 lost 15 points to 2047 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 75 points to 5022.
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand on Thursday cut the official cash rate (OCR) by 25 basis points to 2.5% and while it indicated this could be the end of the easing cycle, it also said rates would be reduced further if needed.

Trading of CNX Nifty futures on the Singapore stock exchange indicates that the Nifty could fall 11.50 points at the opening bell. After record closing high yesterday, the market seems to take a breather on Tuesday.

 The Sensex is down 132.39 points at 21923.09, and the Nifty is down 33.40 points at 6550.10. About 203 shares have advanced, 167 shares declined, and 32 shares are unchanged.

Nifty Future Trading Tips & News Updates For Today



Nifty Market News Updates-
The Nifty rose as much as 1.2 percent on Monday to a record high, surpassing its previous all-time high hit just last week, as lenders including ICICI Bank extended a recent rally on the back of strong foreign investor flows.

The Nifty rose to an all time high of 6,575.80 points, and was up 1.2 percent at 9:48 a.m., surpassing its previous all-time high hit on March 18.
The BSE Sensex also hit a record high at 22,046.58.

ICICI Bank gained 2.8 percent, while HDFC Bank rose 1.8 percent.
The CNX Nifty was up 56.25 points or 0.87% to 6,551.15. The index hit a high of 6,554.90 in intraday trade. The index hit a low of 6,510.50 in intraday trade.

Current Nifty Future Tips with Current Market News Update


The market may open higher on company Oriental shares. Trading of CNX Nifty futures trading on the Singapore stock return indicates that the Nifty could gain 10 points at the starting gong. The BSE SENSEX and Nifty hit a record high on Wednesday as ongoing powerful buying by foreign investor’s enhanced red snacks, while Maruti Suzuki increased after accepting to search for community acceptance for a plan. The broader Nifty gained as much as 1.1 percent to a record high of 6,574.95 points, surpassing its previous record high of 6,562.85 points hit on March 11.

Meanwhile, the conventional BSE Sensex improved as much as 1.1 % to an all-time excellent of 22,040.72 aspects, going above its previous record of 22,023.98 hit on Objective 10. The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was negative. 

On BSE, 1,549 shares fell and 1,208 shares rose. A total of 146 shares were unchanged. Among the 30 Sensex shares, 15 declined and rest rose. Bhel (up 2.73%), Tata Steel (up 1.68%), and Tata Motors (up 1.61%) edged higher from the Sensex pack.
