Live share Market Overview

Sensex, Nifty surge more than 3 percent; rupee hits three-week high
The rupee strengthened to a near three-week high against the dollar, while shares headed for their biggest daily gains in more than two years after the government stuck to its fiscal deficit target for 2016/17.
Further gains in the rupee were averted, however, after the central bank was suspected of having bought dollars around the 67.95 rupee level, according to traders.
The Indian rupee rose as much as 67.95 per dollar, its strongest level since Feb. 11. It was last trading at 68.0350/0400 as compared with its 68.4250/68.4350 close on Monday.
The broader Nifty rose as much as 3.2 percent and was headed for its biggest gain since September 2013.
The benchmark BSE Sensex was up 3.1 percent.

Rail Budget fails to impress stock markets, Sensex closes 113 points down, Nifty50 settles at 6,970; Titagarh Wagons tanks 9%
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty opened on a flat note with positive bias on Thursday tracking mixed global markets. Sensex opened 16.23 points up at 23,105.16, while NSE Nifty opened 11.15 points up at 7,029.85.
Benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty fell for the third straight day after the Rail Budget 2016 failed to boost market sentiments on Thursday. According to market experts, cutting down on bets by cautious participants in view of expiry of February derivatives contracts also kept sentiment weak.

Raminfo shares surged 5 per cent to Rs 27.30.

Indian Rupee Update
Indian rupee rose by 7 paise to 68.50 against the dollar in early trade on Thursday at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market on fresh selling of the US currency by banks and exporters.
Sensex was down 24 points at 23,064. Nifty was down 12.45 points at 7,006.Shares of Axis Bank were trading 0.35 per cent down at Rs 385.20. The bank has decided to increase its headcount in the next financial year by 10 per cent, after going slow on hiring for two years. The country’s third largest private sector lender had increased its headcount to 42,420 from 21,640 at the end of March 2010. But in 2014-15, the number of employees fell, even as the bank increased the number of branches from 2,402 to 2,589.

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty snapped four-day winning streak on Tuesday on account of profit-booking amid a lacklustre trade in Asian markets.
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty snapped four-day winning streak on Tuesday on account of profit-booking amid a lacklustre trade in Asian markets. Sentiments also remained low on report that exports of over half of the sectors, out of the 30 closely monitored by the Commerce Ministry, were in the negative zone in January due to a fall in global prices and demand.
Sensex closed 378.61 points down at 23,410.18, while Nifty settled 125 points down at 7,109.55.

Live Share Market Overview

Sensex shuts 60 Points up from 23, 709, Effective settles preceding 7, 2 hundred; Fortis Professional medical, PNB achieve
The BSE Sensex and NSE Effective opened in red with Friday due to weak worldwide markets. 

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty swung between gains and losses on Friday and finally concluded the session in green. Sensex closed 59.93 points up at 23,709.15, while Nifty settled 19 points up at 7,210.75.
Meanwhile, Nomura said the Union Budget 2016 to be positive and expansionary for growth. The fiscal consolidation process over the past couple of years has entailed lower subsidies, expenditure cuts, not allowing pass-through of windfall oil gains and reduced central support to various schemes. This has adversely affected growth. The 2016 budget will be a better budget from this perspective. The government will present its budget on 29 February.

INDIAN MARKET OVERVIEW
The market extended rally for second consecutive session on Thursday, rising over a percent, especially driven by short covering in beaten down stocks. Positive Asian cues and rally in oil prices also boosted sentiment but the Nifty failed to hold 7200 due to mixed European cues.
Drug major Dr Reddy's will buyback around 44.85 lakh shares, accounting for about 2.6 percent of the existing paid up capital of the company, for up to Rs 1,569.4 crore.
Andhra Bank today reported a 82.91 percent plunge in net profit at Rs 34.46 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, on higher bad loans. The bank's net profit was Rs 201.71 crore in the corresponding October-December quarter of 2014-15.
Utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) disappointed analysts on all parameters Friday by reporting a 15 percent decline in third quarter consolidated profit at Rs 820.5 crore year-on-year.

Live Stock Market Closing Update

LIVE: Sensex recovers over 400 points from day’s low, Nifty above 7,080; BPCL up over 3%
Benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty continued to trade choppy in the afternoon trade. Sensex was up by 150.43 points, or 0.65 per cent at 23342.40 (at 2.38 pm). Nifty was trading 39.35 points up at 7,087.
Buying in the last hour of trade coupled with firm European markets helped domestic benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty to close the day in positive zone in a volatile trading session.
Chennai Petroleum Corporation shares were trading 14.58 per cent up at Rs 180.70. Sensex was up 193 points at 23,385. European stock markets resumed their recovery on Wednesday, boosted by a rise in the shares of French bank Credit Agricole and miner Glencore.

Indian rupee hits 30-month low of 68.62 against dollar in early trade
Indian rupee fell against the dollar on sustained foreign fund outflows amid increased demand for the US currency from importers.
The Indian rupee weakened by 24 paise to trade at a 30-month low of 68.62 against the dollar in early trade on Wednesday on sustained foreign fund outflows amid increased demand for the US currency from importers.
Besides, dollar’s strength against some other currencies overseas also weighed on the rupee, dealers said.
The rupee had tumbled by 31 paise to close at a fresh 29-month low of 68.38 a dollar in Tuesday’s trade on renewed demand for US currency from banks and importers in view of strong foreign capital outflows.

Share Market Closing Update

Value buying, global cues help Sensex gain 568 points; BoB, Tata Steel shares surge
Widespread buying in metal, realty, capital goods and power stocks along with firm global cues supported benchmark indices in Monday's Trade.

Widespread buying in metal, realty, capital goods and power stocks alongwith short coverings and firm global cues supported benchmark indices in Monday’s Trade. As a result, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty advanced 568 points and 182 points to 23,554.12 and 7,162.95, respectively.
In the 50-share index, Bank of Baroda surged 23.18 per cent, followed by Vedanta (17.39 per cent), Tata Steel (13.56 per cent), Hindalco (9.28 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro (9.05 per cent). On the other hand, Bharti Airtel, HUL, Idea Cellular and HDFC Bank slid 1.80 per cent, 1.11 per cent, 0.78 per cent and 0.16 per cent, respectively.

Today Stock Market Closing Update

Live: Sensex Off Day's High, Down Over 200 Points
3:27 p.m.: Nifty can fall to 6,900 levels in the near term, says Shrikant Chouhan of Kotak Securities.
GAIL India's Q3 standalone net profit came in at Rs 664 crore on sales of Rs 13,380 crore. Earnings were better than estimates; shares jumped 1.24 per cent to Rs 347.75.
Hindalco reports standalone net profit of Rs 40.4 crore on sales of Rs 8,021 crore in December quarter. Shares jump 1.15 per cent.
Stock markets recovered some lost ground on the back of buying in heavyweight stocks such as Sun Pharma, Lupin, ICICI Bank, ONGC, Reliance Industries and Hindustan Uniliver. The Sensex which fell as much as 368 points to day's low of 23,919, was down 232 points at 24,055 and Nifty was down 80 points at 7,307.

INDIAN MARKET OVERVIEW
Last-hour sell-off sends the market tumbling. The market was flat throughout the day but last hour of trade saw a sharp nosedive tracking a sell-off in European markets. Nifty future down 125 points at 7393.
The 30-share BSE Sensex plunged 329 points at 24287. The market breadth was weak as about 1193 shares advanced against 1491 declining shares on the BSE.
Pharma company Ipca Laboratories disappointed analysts with its third quarter earnings on Monday. Profit declined 44 percent year-on-year to Rs 23.18 crore and revenue slipped 7.6 percent to Rs 684.11 crore during the quarter, hit by exports.
Shares of Jet Airways jumped over 8 percent intraday on Monday after it announced highest ever quarterly profit in October-December. Fuel cost which fell 27 percent in Q3 aided its profitability with total income growing 7.7 percent to Rs 5444 crore against Rs 5051 crore on annual basis.

European sectors such as banking, autos, construction and technology fell 2.6 to 2.9 per cent.

MARKET UPDATE

The market ended with big gains. A potent mix of strong earnings and bargain hunting sparked a late rally on Dalal Street. Nifty future up 96 points at 7519.
The 30-share BSE Sensex up 278 points at 24616. The market breadth was strong as about 1609 shares advanced against 1029 declining shares on the BSE.
Tata Power’s revenue increased 9.4 percent to Rs 9,329.3 crore in quarter ended December 2015 compared to Rs 8,528.4 crore in year-ago period.
Pharma major Lupin's third quarter earnings beat analysts' expectations on Friday. Consolidated profit declined 11.9 percent year-on-year to Rs 530 crore but increased 29.6 percent on sequential basis.
GLOBAL MARKET OVERVIEW
Asian markets came under pressure on Friday with major indexes trading down, despite a positive finish on Wall Street overnight.
In Japan, the Nikkei extended losses, appearing set for a five-day losing streak, with the index falling 1.03 percent on the back of a stronger yen.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 79.92 points, or 0.49 percent, to end at 16,416.58, the S&P 500 gained 2.92 points, or 0.15 percent, to 1,915.45 and the Nasdaq Composite added 5.32 points, or 0.12 percent, to 4,509.56.

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty gained over 1 per cent on Friday on account of buying in frontline blue chip stocks amid stabilisation of crude oil prices. Buying in metal stocks too supported the sentiments on a report of MIP notification.

Mahindra Asset Management Company has received markets regulator Sebi’s approval for setting up of mutual fund business. Mahindra AMC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services, got the regulator’s nod on February 4. Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services were trading 0.80 per cent down at Rs 199.40. Sensex was up 272 points at 24,611.
