Live share Market Overview

Sensex, Nifty surge more than 3 percent; rupee hits three-week high
The rupee strengthened to a near three-week high against the dollar, while shares headed for their biggest daily gains in more than two years after the government stuck to its fiscal deficit target for 2016/17.
Further gains in the rupee were averted, however, after the central bank was suspected of having bought dollars around the 67.95 rupee level, according to traders.
The Indian rupee rose as much as 67.95 per dollar, its strongest level since Feb. 11. It was last trading at 68.0350/0400 as compared with its 68.4250/68.4350 close on Monday.
The broader Nifty rose as much as 3.2 percent and was headed for its biggest gain since September 2013.
The benchmark BSE Sensex was up 3.1 percent.

After a noisy ride, the market ended lower on Union Budget day. Nifty future down 46 points at 7008.
The 30-share BSE Sensex up by 126 points at 23028. The market breadth was weak as about 1058 shares advanced against 1430 declining shares on the BSE.
Jaitley had set a tall target of containing India's fiscal deficit to 3.9 percent this fiscal year, 3.5 percent in FY17 and 3 percent in FY18
The government had increased the Clean Energy Cess from Rs 100 to 200 per tonne of coal to finance clean environment initiatives for 2015-16.

Sensex ends 46 points down @ Live Market Update

Sensex ends 46 points down ahead of RBI monetary policy review, Nifty settles at 7,556; Banking stocks fall
Sensex closed 45.86 points down at 24,824.83 on Monday, while Nifty settled 7.60 points down at 7,555.95.
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty closed in red on Monday ahead of the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) monetary policy review scheduled for Tuesday. The sentiments remained under pressure after Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services stated that India will face challenges in sticking to the fiscal consolidation roadmap as the expected revenues may not be fully realised and subsidy cuts may be delayed.
Sensex closed 45.86 points down at 24,824.83, while Nifty settled 7.60 points down at 7,555.95.

INDIAN MARKET OVERVIEW
After a disastrous January, Dalal Street has begun the new February futures and options (F&O) series on a positive note. Nifty future up 119 points at 7568.
The 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 401 points at 24870. The market breadth was strong as about 1556 shares advanced against 1035 declining shares on the BSE.
Engineering and infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro's third quarter profit increased by 19.4 percent year-on-year to Rs 1,034.8 crore, aided by other income and lower finance cost.
State-run power generation company NTPC's third quarter profit plunged 18.9 percent year-on-year to Rs 2,493 crore due to lower revenue & other income and higher finance cost despite margin surge.

Share market Closing Update

LIVE: Sensex up over 50 points, Nifty above 7,450; Jindal Stainless Hisar falls 5%
Sensex was trading up 10.20 points at 24,502.59. Today being the last trading session of the January futures and options expiry, winding-up of positions and profit-booking at select stocks took their toll.
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty closed on a flat note with marginal losses on the last day of derivatives expiry for January series. Sensex closed 22.82 points down at 24,469.57 on Thursday, while Nifty settled 13.10 points down at 7424.65.
In scrip specific development, telecom stocks Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Reliance Communications remained under pressure after the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) proposed auction of 700 MHz spectrum at a reserve price of Rs 11,485 crore per MHz. This is the highest reserve price fixed for a band ever since the process for spectrum auction started nearly five years ago.

Its tug of war on Dalal Street as the bears cash in at every bounce. Nifty future down 2 points at 7431.
The 30-share BSE Sensex up 6 points at 24492. The market breadth was strong as about 1349 shares advanced against 1213 declining shares on the BSE.
Housing Development Finance Corporation's (HDFC) third quarter profit missed analysts' expectations on Wednesday, rising 6.7 percent year-on-year to Rs 1,520.5 crore hit by higher provisions.
Shares of National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) advanced 4 percent intraday Wednesday as it has bagged work order worth of Rs 2149 crore.

GLOBAL MARKET OVERVIEW
Asian stocks were subdued on Wednesday as a wait-and-see mood prevailed ahead of the Federal Reserve's policy statement due later, and with sentiment fragile after a rout in Chinese shares the previous day.
Wall Street rebounded over 1 percent on Tuesday, driven by a surge in oil prices and strong quarterly results from 3M, Johnson & Johnson and Procter & Gamble.
All 10 major S&P sectors ended higher, led by a 3.78-percent rise in the energy sector. The Dow Jones industrial average ended 1.78 percent higher at 16,167.23 points and the S&P 500 gained 1.41 percent to 1,903.63.

Sensex, Nifty end flat @ Market Closing Update

Sensex, Nifty end flat; Tata Steel & Sun Pharma gainers Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, ICICI Bank, Coal India and ONGC were top gainers while Hero MotoCorp, L&T, GAIL, Tata Motors and Adani Ports were losers in the Sensex.
After a good rally, the market ended flat. The Sensex was up 50.29 points or 0.2 percent at 24485.95 and the Nifty was up 13.70 points or 0.2 percent at 7436.15. About 1734 shares advanced, 929 shares declined, and 157 shares were unchanged.  Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, ICICI Bank, Coal India and ONGC were top gainers while Hero MotoCorp, L&T, GAIL, Tata Motors and Adani Ports were losers in the Sensex.
Equity benchmarks continued to be volatile in afternoon trade. The Sensex rose 46.23 points to 24481.89 and the Nifty went up 13.60 points to 7436.05. About 1669 shares have advanced, 920 shares declined, and 154 shares are unchanged on the BSE.

Equity benchmarks continued southward journey on Tuesday with the Nifty falling below psychological 7500-mark intraday, weighed down by banking & financials, technology and metals stocks. Nifty future down 49 points at 7534.
The 30-share BSE Sense fell 143 points at 24682. The market breadth was weak as about 920 shares advanced against 1867 declining shares on the BSE.
On earnings front, IndusInd Bank dropped 2.7 percent on higher provisions in Q3FY16. Profit and net interest income beat expectations, up 30 percent and 36.2 percent, respectively.
Shares of Larsen and Toubro gained 0.4 percent. Credit Suisse has upgraded the stock to outperform from neutral but reduced target to Rs 1,475 from Rs 1,515 per share earlier.
