The Sensex fell 130 points to 24420 and the Nifty declined 33 points to 7426. Hindalco (-4 percent), Vedanta (-3 percent), Sun Pharma (-2 percent) and Asian Paints (-2 percent) were the big losers in the Nifty. 
Other laggards in the index were Adani Ports (-1 percent),GAIL (-1 percent),Bharti Airtel (-1 percent) and Zee Entertain (-1 percent). Gainers included ITC (2 percent), Bank of Baroda (1 percent), BPCL (1 percent) and BHEL (1 percent).

Sensex ends 46 points down @ Live Market Update

Sensex ends 46 points down ahead of RBI monetary policy review, Nifty settles at 7,556; Banking stocks fall
Sensex closed 45.86 points down at 24,824.83 on Monday, while Nifty settled 7.60 points down at 7,555.95.
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty closed in red on Monday ahead of the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) monetary policy review scheduled for Tuesday. The sentiments remained under pressure after Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services stated that India will face challenges in sticking to the fiscal consolidation roadmap as the expected revenues may not be fully realised and subsidy cuts may be delayed.
Sensex closed 45.86 points down at 24,824.83, while Nifty settled 7.60 points down at 7,555.95.

INDIAN MARKET OVERVIEW
After a disastrous January, Dalal Street has begun the new February futures and options (F&O) series on a positive note. Nifty future up 119 points at 7568.
The 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 401 points at 24870. The market breadth was strong as about 1556 shares advanced against 1035 declining shares on the BSE.
Engineering and infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro's third quarter profit increased by 19.4 percent year-on-year to Rs 1,034.8 crore, aided by other income and lower finance cost.
State-run power generation company NTPC's third quarter profit plunged 18.9 percent year-on-year to Rs 2,493 crore due to lower revenue & other income and higher finance cost despite margin surge.

INDIAN MARKET OVERVIEW
Equity benchmarks continued southward journey on Tuesday with the Nifty falling below psychological 7500-mark intraday, weighed down by banking & financials, technology and metals stocks. Nifty future down 49 points at 7534.
The 30-share BSE Sense fell 143 points at 24682. The market breadth was weak as about 920 shares advanced against 1867 declining shares on the BSE.
On earnings front, IndusInd Bank dropped 2.7 percent on higher provisions in Q3FY16. Profit and net interest income beat expectations, up 30 percent and 36.2 percent, respectively.
Shares of Larsen and Toubro gained 0.4 percent. Credit Suisse has upgraded the stock to outperform from neutral but reduced target to Rs 1,475 from Rs 1,515 per share earlier.

The Indian rupee rose in the early trade on Monday. It has opened higher by 14 paise at 66.40 per dollar against Friday’s close of 66.54.We expect a range of 66.25-66.55/dollar for the day.

 Market Update
The market has opened flat on Monday. The Sensex is down 30.66 points at 25579.55 and the Nifty is down 13.00 points at 7776.30. About 429 shares have advanced, 204 shares declined, and 34 shares are unchanged. Tata Steel, Wipro, Sun Pharma, TCS and HUL are top gainers while ICICI Bank, Infosys, Reliance, Vedanta and HDFC are early losers.
The Sensex is down 4.85 points at 25,605.36, after rising to 25,706.00 earlier. The Nifty is down 3.60 points at 7785.10

  • Indian mkts ended down. Nifty up by 0.02% & Sensex down by 0.05%
  • Asia Pacific market mixed. Nikkei down by 0.19% & KOSPI down by 1.07%.
  • Wall St.Flat.USD ISM Manuf. PMI down to 52.7.Dow fut. down by 102 pts.

Indian broad indices showed mixed movement and closed on negative note. On sectorial front Infra, Media and Auto were up while Metal sector traded downside with 1.52%. Sensex was down by 11 points at 25610 & Nifty future declined by 23 points to settle at 7785 level. European markets traded downside.
The dollar, euro and yen all got off to a slow start with investors sticking to the sidelines as the countdown begins on whether the Federal Reserve will hike interest rates for the first time in nearly a decade.
