Nifty Market News: Opening Bell, GST Bill Update

Live: Sensex, Nifty Decline on Weak Global Cues; GST Bill Passage in Rajya Sabha Eyed

Indian shares extend losses as weak global cues prompt investors to take some profit off the table,  
while awaiting clearance for the passage of the unified sales tax bill. The S&P BSE Sensex declines 0.5 percent to 27,832; while the NSE Nifty loses 0.4 percent to 8,584.

HCL Technologies Soars After Q1 Net Beats Estimates  

The country’s fourth largest IT services provider jumps as much as 8.5 percent after it reports a 5.9 percent profit growth in the April-June quarter, beating the consensus estimate of analysts tracked by Bloomberg.

The long-pending GST Bill will be tabled today for consideration and passage in Rajya Sabha amidst strong indications that the most important economic reform in the last couple of decades would be supported by Congress and all other major political parties.

See Nifty Futures Open at 8675

Indian Market Outlook: 

Nifty after a gap up opening yesterday, saw profit booking. Nifty August Futures is unable to breach
8750 and profit booking is witnessed from these levels since past few trading sessions. Market heavyweights like banks and Reliance Industries have been underperforming since past few trading sessions. Small Cap Index also witnessed profit booking from its all time high of 6172 to below its two days low of 6073 and made a low of 6039 before closing at 6089. FIIs are still net buyers in the Index Futures and the cash segment. This fall should be considered as a buying opportunity with three day low of Nifty at 8619 which will act as an strong support. 

However, for the next big up move spot nifty has to sustain above 8650 for a trading session.

Top five gainers were HSL Tech, TCS, Tata Steel, Hindalco Industries and Grasim Industries.  

Nifty Futures is expected to open at 8675 as per SGX Nifty at 8:30 am IST, which is 7 points below its previous close of 8682.

Nifty may Open on Positive Note

Post a flat start, the Nifty remained under pressure throughout the day and finally ended 28 points lower. Nifty futures settled at a premium of 48 points. India VIX fell 1.5 percent to 14.9.

FIIs sold Rs 14 crore while DIIs bought Rs 148 crore in the cash segment. FIIs bought Rs 85 crore in index futures and Rs 1393 crore in index options. In stock futures, they sold Rs 866 crore.  

The highest Put base at the 8500 strike with 39 lakh shares while the highest Call base is at the 9000 strike with 47 lakh shares. The 8700 and 8800 Call strikes saw additions of 3.6 and 2.9 lakh shares respectively, while the 8600 and 8700 Put strikes saw additions of 2.8 and 3.2 lakh shares, respectively.

Nifty Future: The Nifty is likely to open positive on the back of strong global cues. Buy Nifty in the range of 8685-8695 for targets of 8725-8745, stop loss: 8670.  

Bank Nifty Future: Apart from a few midcap banks, all major banks remained under pressure throughout the day. However, the index continued to remain firm above the sizeable Call base of 19000. We feel dips in the index should be utilised to create fresh long positions. Buy Bank Nifty in the range of 18880-18930, targets: 19050-19150 stop loss: 18790.

LIVE: Sensex down over 100 points, Nifty below 7,450; Metal, Oil & Gas shares up
Extending gains for the fifth consecutive session, the benchmark Sensex advanced over 100 points and the NSE Nifty reclaimed 7,500-mark in early trade on Tuesday as investors widened bets amid increased foreign fund inflows.

Nifty Technical Overview:
Nifty futures opened with positive note and showed consolidated movement with bullish sentiments for the entire day. It opened above the level of 7400 and sustained above it throughout the day. On coming session if it sustains above the level of 7400 and break 7480 then upside movement is expected.
Bank Nifty Technical Overview:
Bank Nifty futures opened with positive note and consolidated movement for most part of the day and slight bullish rally in later part. It sustained above 15000 levels and broke 15200 levels upside. If Bank nifty sustain above the level of 15200 and break 15450 then upside movement is expected.

INDIAN MARKET OVERVIEW
Bulls just managed to win the fight with bears on Friday as equity benchmarks closed marginally higher amid consolidation, continuing upside for fourth consecutive session. Nifty future up 10 points at 7469.
The 30-share BSE Sensex up by 39 points at 24646. The market breadth was strong as about 1509 shares advanced against 1109 declining shares on the BSE.
Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today raised prices of its vehicles by up to Rs 82,906 across models on account of new levies announced in the Union Budget.

A day after the Union Budget caused some turmoil on Dalal Street, the BSE benchmark Sensex on Tuesday posted its biggest single-day gain in nearly seven years amid hopes of a rate cut by the Reserve Bank of India.

The Sensex closed 152.30 points lower after Monday's highly volatile session, mainly hit by a proposal for a higher dividend distribution tax on those earning more and on a rise in securities transaction tax on options trading.
Growth-oriented budgetary proposals like higher spending in infrastructure, the allocation of nearly Rs 36,000 crores for the farm sector and a higher credit target aimed at doubling farmers' income in five years buoyed sentiment, brokers said.
The government's commitment to keep the deficit at 3.5 per cent of GDP in 2016-17, too lifted mood, they added.
The rupee strengthening by 47 paise to 67.95 against the American currency (intra-day) at the forex market did its bit to boost the market.

Nifty Technical Overview:

Nifty futures opened with positive note and witnessed strong bullish movement for the entire day. It broke 7150 level in morning and sustained above it for the entire day and closed above 7200. Tomorrow if it sustain above the 7150-7170 then upside movement is expected.

Live Indian Market Overview

Investors give thumbs down to Union Budget 2016, Sensex ends 152 points down
Union Budget 2016 failed to cheer Dalal Street as benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty skid 0.50 per cent on Monday in a volatile trade.
Union Budget 2016 failed to cheer Dalal Street as benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty skid 0.50 per cent on Monday in a volatile trade. The 30-share index Sensex slipped 152.30 points at 23,002, while the 50-share index Nifty dipped 42.70 points at 6987.05.

Sensex was down 156 points at 22,997. Dairy companies stocks like Hatsun Agro Products, Kwality and Prabhat Dairy were trading firm after the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in its budget has proposed four new schemes to enhance dairy farming in India with allocation of Rs 850 crore in Union Budget 2016-17.

INDIAN MARKET OVERVIEW
The market snapped three-day losing streak with the Sensex rising more than 250 points intraday Friday, the last trading session before Union Budget announcement. Nifty future up 54 points at 7055.
The 30-share BSE Sensex up by 178 points at 23154. The market breadth was weak as about 1005 shares advanced against 1481 declining shares on the BSE.



GLOBAL MARKET OVERVIEW
Asian shares rose on Friday following a firmer finish on Wall Street and as investors awaited a meeting of Group of 20 finance leaders that will likely offer words of reassurance, even if little in the way of actual policy stimulus.
Jpan's Nikkei rose 1.5 percent to break chart resistance and reach a two-week top.
The International Monetary Fund has called for a coordinated stimulus program to stop a global slowdown from turning into something worse.

Sensex tumbles 321 points ahead of Rail Budget, F&O expiry; BHEL, NTPC shares fall

Sensex slid further and was trading 300.17 points down at 23,110.01. Nifty was down 73.40 points at 7,036. BPCL shares were trading 4 per cent up at Rs 766.05.

The market lost more than 1.5 percent on Tuesday after rallying in previous four consecutive sessions. Profit booking and global weakness caused selling pressure today. Nifty future down 127 points at 7113.
The 30-share BSE Sensex plunge by 378 points at 23410. The market breadth was weak as about 674 shares advanced against 1929 declining shares on the BSE.
IDBI Bank has a three-tier fund raising plan which include sale of non-core assets, preferential allotment and qualified institutional placement (QIP), adding that the funds will be raised according to requirement.
