It was muted session for the market as the sensex trading flat after stellar rally of 1500 points in the last trading three sessions. The nifty was trading above 7100 mark while the sensex was trying to inch closer towards 24000 points.

The sensex was up 37.49 points or 0.16 percents as23980.72 and the nifty was up19.05 points or 0.27  at 71.27.80.About1072 shares advanced 577 shares declined and 80 shares are unchanged.

The barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, was down 35.84 points or 0.15%, up about 15 points from the day's low and off close to 70 points from the day's high. The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was strong. 

The CNX Nifty was down 6.75 points or 0.09% to 7,102. The index hit a low of 7,100.15 in intraday trade. The index hit a high of 7,124.15 in intraday trade.
