The market may open higher on firm Asian stocks. Trading of CNX Nifty futures on the Singapore stock exchange indicates that the Nifty could gain 10 points at the opening bell.
The BSE Sensex gains 0.3 percent, while the Nifty is up 0.34 percent. Banks gain on optimism ahead of the RBI's policy review on January 28 when the central bank is widely expected to keep interest rates unchanged after inflation cooled last month.
Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange up 0.17 percent, while the MSCI-Asia Pacific excluding Japan index gains 0.48 percent.
