INDIAN MARKET OVERVIEW
Equity benchmarks snapped four-day losses on Friday with the Nifty future closing above 7600-mark, supported by short covering in index heavyweight. Nifty future up 23 points at 7605.
The 30-share BSE Sense rose 84 points at 24934. The market breadth was strong as about 1948 shares advanced against 821 declining shares on the BSE.
Reserve Bank Governor Raghuram Rajan has made out a case for more powers to banks to deal with stressed loans in absence of an efficient bankruptcy law.
Shares of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries have rallied 2.7 percent in early trade Friday. CLSA has maintained buy rating on the stock as it expects 72 percent year-on-year growth in FY17 earnings per share of the company.

Asian markets rallied briefly after China opened in positive territory but some major markets were back in the red soon after
The Shanghai Composite was up as much as 3 percent shortly after the market open before sliding into negative territory, down 1.61 percent. Shenzhen Composite was down 3.7 percent while CSI 300 index erased gains to trade down 1.38 percent.
China is playing a dangerous game with its currency, moves that could send the global economy into recession. China's control-minded central bank allowed the biggest fall in the yuan in five months on Thursday, roiling global markets and sparking new fears about Asia's largest economy.

INDIAN MARKET OVERVIEW
The market started off year 2016 as well as January series on a positive note with the Nifty closing at two-month high on Friday while the broader markets outperformed benchmarks. Nifty future up 29 points at 7982.

After hitting the Congress wall in two successive Parliament sessions, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today exuded confidence that landmark GST Bill will be passed in the next session as numbers in the Rajya Sabha will tilt in favour of the new indirect tax regime.
Maruti Suzuki has registered a 8.5 percent growth in December sales, beating expectations on support from compact, super compact and utility vehicles. The country's largest car maker sold 1.19 lakh units in December against 1.09 lakh units in a year-ago month

Market Update
Bears took charge on Wednesday as the market saw selling pressure in last couple of hours of trade today, weighed down by technology, banking & financials and select oil stocks. Nifty future down 30 points at 7901.
The 30-share BSE Sense down 119 points at 25960. The market breadth was slight strong as about 1365 shares advanced against 1299 declining shares on the BSE.
Shares of Tata Power Company rose 2.2 percent intraday Wednesday as the Tata Group Company is likely to see reduction in interest cost post refinancing of rupee loans.
Stocks of state-controlled lender IFCI rose 4.3 percent on news that the company has sold partial stake in National Stock Exchange (NSE). The stock hit an intraday high of Rs 28.05, its highest level since December 4.
GLOBAL MARKET OVERVIEW
Asian shares glided higher in early trading on Wednesday, taking their cues from overseas gains, although investors are cautiously watching to see whether renewed selling in crude oil futures will dent sentiment.
On Wall Street, major US indexes each gained more than 1 percent. All 10 major S&P sectors ended with gains, led by a 1.34-percent rise in the technology sector.

Today’s Stock Recommendation



Sensex slips over 100 points from day’s high, Nifty below 7,770

The BSE Sensex slipped over 100 points from day’s high. Sensex was up 64.37 points at 25,558.74. The index had touched a high and low of 25,659.32 and 25,551.79, respectively, in trade so far. 
On the US Fed rate hike, Nikhil Kamath, director, trading & risk, Zerodha said, “With the increase in rates, the Fed has finally aligned its intent and action. I think they have made it amply clear that further rate hikes would be ‘gradual’ and well spaced, which probably means to say we may get to see another marginal uptick in rates toward the end of 2016. The markets have already factored in yesterday’s hike, and I suppose the participants would be happy that the event is through. We may even witness a rally in the market. The focus in now back on domestic macro factors.” 
The S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.77 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.95 per cent higher.

Indian Rupee UpdateThe Indian rupee has opened at 1 week high on Thursday due to weakness in dollar after Federal Reserve hiked interest rates by 25 basis points (the first rate hike in last seven years). The currency rose 11 paise to 66.62 a dollar compared to 66.73 per dollar in previous session.
GLOBAL MARKET OVERVIEW  
Asian stocks gained early on Wednesday, with sentiment lifting as Wall Street rose before a likely hike in US interest rates, while the dollar held to large gains made as Treasury yields picked up.
The The Dow Jones industrial average rose 156 points to 17525, the S&P 500 gained 21 points to 2043 and the Nasdaq Composite added 43 points to 4995.
The dollar was steady at 121.67 yen, pulling further away from a six-week trough of 120.35 struck Monday. The euro traded near USD 1.0900 after recoiling from a seven-week peak of USD 1.1060.

Anil Ambani's Reliance Communication today informed the bourses its decision to sign non-binding agreement with Tillman and TPG to sell its tower unit Infratel for an enterprise value of Rs 22,000 crore. GMR Infra plans to raise about Rs 2,000 crore through foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCBs), which will be issued as 60-year-old perpetual bonds.
Shares of Essar Oil and Titan will remain in focus on Monday. Essar Oil Ltd, India’s second biggest non-state oil refiner, on Saturday issued a public notice to delist the company from local bourses by buying out the non-promoter shareholding of 28.54 per cent at Rs 146.05 per share.Tata Sons, the promoter of major operating companies of the Tata group, will acquire additional 0.22 per cent stake in Titan Company at an estimated price of over Rs 66 crore, taking its total holding to 19.80 per cent.  

GLOBAL MARKET OVERVIEW
Asian equities traded lower on Friday, after Wall Street closed in the red as investors digested comments from the Fed and the European Central Bank (ECB).
The Nikkei 225 fell 1.92% while the Shanghai Composite eased 0.92% and the S&P/ASX 200 dropped 1.72%.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 252 points lower at 17,478 while the S&P 500 was down 30 points at 2,049. The Nasdaq was down 86 points at 5,038
Data released on Thursday showed initial US jobless claims for last week rose but remained at levels consistent with a strengthening labor market.
