The market ended with gains for seven consecutive day. The
Sensex closed up 414.04 points or 1.5 percent at 27730.21 and the Nifty was up
128.15 points or 1.6 percent at 8353.10. About 1725 shares advanced, 984 shares
declined, and 152 shares were unchanged.The barometer index, the S&P BSE
Sensex, and the 50-unit CNX Nifty, both, hit their highest level in nearly
three weeks.
Stocks rose across the globe on reports that Greece has
presented a new plan to stave off default before an emergency summit on the
country's debt crisis. The Sensex was provisionally up 397.76 points or 1.46%
to 27713.93. Key benchmark indices traded in positive zone throughout the
trading session today 22 June 2015. The CNX Nifty was up 128.15 points or 1.56%
at 8,353.10, as per provisional closing. The index hit a high of 8,369.45 in
intraday trade, its highest level since 2 June 2015. The index hit a low of
8,257.40 in intraday trade.
