Nifty Market Closing News With Current Status



After a volatile session, the market has ended in negative terrain. The Sensex ended down 50.45 points at 27440.14 and the Nifty was down 11.25 points at 8320.70. Metal stocks jumped with top gainers like Vedanta and Tata Steel. ONGC, Hindalco and HUL were other gainers in the Sensex.Index heavyweights HDFC, ITC and Infosys led losses for key benchmark indices. The losses for the benchmark indices were small. The market breadth indicating the overall health of the market was negative. 

The barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, was provisionally off 68.20 points or 0.25% at 27,422.39. Key benchmark indices languished in negative zone during the latter part of the trading session after moving alternately between positive and negative zone during the first half of the trading session. The CNX Nifty was down 11.25 points or 0.14% at 8,320.70, as per provisional figures. The index hit a low of 8,280.60 in intraday trade. The index hit a high of 8,355.65 in intraday trade, its highest level since 24 April 2015.
